The Hand and Flowers

We were delighted when The Hand and Flowers approached us to redesign and build the website for their two Michelin star pub restaurant in Marlow. Having heard nothing but excellent reviews of their top class food and friendly atmosphere it meant the pressure was definitely on to convey this successfully through their website in order to encourage bookings, build awareness of their other services and reinforce the brand that chef Tom Kerridge has created.

By following our restaurant web design process, we established a page structure focusing on usability and guiding visitors to the areas they’d be most interested in, the design then followed focusing on a layout that would make good use of their superb photos whilst also working across all devices and helping them stand out from their competition. A content management system was integrated to allow The Hand and Flowers team to edit menus and other areas of the site at will. It also allows them to add new products to their merchandise area and write new news articles.

Our approach ensured that users would seamlessly be able to book tables in the restaurant and rooms in the boutique hotel.

The menu was one of the most visited pages on the old site, but it needed to be more comprehensive and useful for their clientel. Our solution was to break it all down so it was easier to browse.

The H&F had some beautiful photography which needed to be highlighted well across the site. We used big banners and a dedicated gallery section to help convey the atmosphere in the restaurant.
